A dry weather window meant that Mark and I could head for the Wirral Peninsular today. The Dee Estuary is usually great for birds, but neither of us expected a day like today. In just a couple of hours we saw 7 birds of prey: Hen Harrier, Marsh Harrier, Short-eared Owl, Long-eared Owl, Merlin, Kestrel and Buzzard. A pint of real ale in the Ship and Mitre in Liverpool concluded a quality day out. Comments are closed.
